Who is Goodhope Ministries?

At Goodhope Ministries, we believe in the salvation, love, power and eternal life of the Lord Jesus Christ and how outreach ministry and service in His Holy Name impacts and changes lives.

Our mission is simple yet profound, reach out to those in need spiritually and practically, and introduce them to Jesus Christ. Right now, our efforts span several vital areas, from Thursday Night Prayer and Praise gatherings to Worship Services in Nursing Homes, to bringing the Salvation of Jesus Christ to the Homeless. We’re also excited to share our musical ministry with local churches that would like us to come and do so. In addition we take part in Monday Night Gospel Music at our local Senior Center. I will be doing an article in the future to help spread the word about this awesome gathering of musicians, singers and those who love the Lord.

One of the most pressing issues we tackle is homelessness. We understand that life can take unexpected turns, leaving families without a roof over their heads or individuals struggling on the streets. That’s why we step in—offering support not just for survival but for hope and restoration through Jesus Christ. We’ve helped many families who have lost everything find temporary shelter and food while guiding them toward long-term solutions.

We’ve also have helped runaway teens, providing them with a safe place to stay for a night or two while offering counseling and support, then connecting them with fuller support through Christian faith based networks to help provide for their long term needs. The cornerstone of that support is our extending HOPE, the Hope & Truth of Jesus Christ’s love and sacrifice for them in a world and often in circumstances which look so void of hope.

Allow me to share a story that truly embodies our mission. One day at a Praise & Worship event we were having, filled with people, God and love, a young man walked in carrying a hundred-pound backpack—his only possession after six long years of being homeless. You could see the weariness etched on his face; he was fighting hard but was close to giving up. We learned later that this young man had recently found himself in trouble with the law in another county over something as trivial as stealing a candy bar—a reflection of his desperate situation.

This young man sat in the back during the gathering until we gave the invitation for anyone who wanted to know Jesus Christ and receive His anointing on their life or for those needing prayer. We prayed for several people, he waited patiently as he stood at the end of the line. He then informed us of his homelessness and that he would like to be saved. He became a Christian that day. In his surrendering to the Lord and His will for his life, he also surrendered to the sheriff’s department here in our community to serve out his community service requirements of the other county. We stood by him all through his community service. He paid his debt to society and got right with the law all the while he was getting right with GOD. He came back four years later to let everyone know how his life was going, the first place he visited was the Sheriff’s office to apologize to a deputy Sheriff about butting heads and loosing his temper. I guess he had figured out that the deputy was a Christian. They talked for a while and he told the deputy to tell us he was now married, and had a baby girl and that he is very happy and gave the Glory to the Lord. Praise God! He is faithful and true and HIS blessings are unending.

In addition to “acknowledging the LORD in all our ways…” It’s important to acknowledge our amazing community and first responders. Our community can be very tough when it needs to be, but we have some incredible believers among our law enforcement officers and emergency responders—after all they are following the call that the Lord has placed on their good hearts to defend and serve, dedicated to helping us when we need it. They are there day and night twenty four seven keeping everyone safe. Their work is very dangerous and they deserve all the support they can get. We pray for them daily.

In closing, Goodhope Ministries isn’t just an outreach ministry; it’s about building relationships rooted in faith and love. Together, with this wonderful community, we are creating a ripple effect of the love and hope of Jesus Christ that reaches far beyond what we can see—a true testament to what happens when minds and hearts come together for a common purpose. Thank you for allowing us, Ken and Kim to be in this journey with you!

God Bless and Keep You!
