The Power of Forgiveness

Forgiveness is a powerful gift that brings us closer to God and allows us to experience His glory. When we forgive others, we free ourselves from the burdens of anger and resentment.

Forgiveness is also an imperative (responsibility or obligation) from God the Father. In Matthew 6:14 of God’s Holy Word, Jesus Christ declares, “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you” In 6:15 He goes on to say, “But If ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will the Father forgive your trespasses.”

He who sits at the Right Hand of God, Jesus Christ the Redeemer and Salvation of all Creation who was given for our forgiveness of sin, is telling us that forgiving others is not just an act of kindness for our own spiritual well being, health and growth. It is essential to our being forgiven by God the Father.

Forgiving others is not something we can do on our own. We need a new heart. In God the Father’s amazing gift of forgiveness, grace and love through Jesus Christ, He will make a new heart within us. We need only seek His guidance and softening of our hearts through humble submission and prayer to help to let go of past hurts so we can embrace a life filled with His peace, love and eternal abidement.

Forgiving ourselves is equally important. We often hold onto guilt and shame which can keep us from experiencing God’s love fully. In John 8:36, Jesus tells us, “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” This freedom comes when we accept His grace and allow ourselves to move forward without guilt. But firstly we must repent of any and all responsibility we have in whatever that guilt or shame are a part of.

In doing so healing can begin and our hearts renewed. Through humble submission in prayer seek the Lord and He will show you the Way!

The power of forgiveness transforms lives. Imagine someone who has been deeply hurt by a friend but chooses to forgive. This act can lead not only to reconciliation but also to personal peace. In Colossians 3:13, Paul encourages us to forgive, “Forbearing one another, if any have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye” just as Christ forgave us. By embracing forgiveness, we reflect God’s love and mercy toward others.

In conclusion, forgiveness is a vital step toward spiritual freedom for both ourselves and those around us. It allows God’s light to shine through our lives as we let go of past grievances and embrace His plans for our future. As we practice forgiveness daily, we grow in faith and become instruments of God’s grace in this world. Forgiveness also gives a complete pathway to freedom. Amen!

May God, Bless And Keep You!
